Stories of God at Home: A Godly Play approach

Andrea says… This new book, written by Jerome Berryman, has, in his words, ‘taken a lifetime to write.’ Now in his eighties Berryman says that the most important part of his learning has been sitting on the floor with children, telling stories of God and wondering together with them about what the stories mean for our lives.

Much of what he writes in this book is a culmination of that learning.
It is a method for parents and grandparents to nurture their child’s spiritual life at home. Using Godly Play methods and adapted scripts it gives a way for families to share the biblical story at home and learn the practice of sharing one another’s stories as part of God’s story.
When so much is being written about faith formation in the home, it is really useful and inspiring to read this book and see how the principles of Godly Play can be used at home.
